Not everyone wants to be a race car driver.
For those who prefer to be coddled, cocooned, and cradled, the Lexus ES 350 may be your perfect ride.
The re-designed for ’13 Lexus ES 350 is a handsome vehicle…both inside and out.
Outside it comes with Lexus’ new “pinched” grille…and inside with butter smooth leather, wood trim, and a host of electronics.
A 3.5 liter 268 HP six with a 6-speed automatic provide the go-power…and they do a good job.
The transmission is geared for economy…and it does a surprisingly good job there when driven in the “Normal” setting….hitting high-twenties mileage when not driven too hard.
But when power is needed, select the “Sport” setting and you’ll have a much more responsive vehicle.
Our test ES 350 started at $36,100…and included 10-way power seats with lumbar, auto lights, mirrors and climate control, moonroof and more.
Options like blind-spot monitor, 18” graphite-finish wheels, HID headlamps, heated front seats, hard-disc nav with voice activation and 8’ screen, parking assist, maple trim and a few other items brought the total to $43,684.
Updated but classic styling, ample power + economy, an interior far better than most homes, and excellent resale values…all go to show why the Lexus ES 350 is a favorite in it’s class. The reasonably good fuel economy is just a welcome bonus!
