WAOK And V-103 Get Commuters Registered To Vote
ATLANTA (WAOK)—WAOK accompanied V-103 at the 5 Points MARTA station this past Monday registering people to vote.
Along with the V-103 and WAOK booths, over three tables were set up inside the 5 Points MARTA station, with a large amount of registration forms to get citizens to participate in this year’s election.
“This is a great way to get commuters to register,” said Atlanta native Jamika Brown. “Many people claim they are not able to get registered at certain locations or that they don’t have time, but this event puts registration right in their faces as soon as they step off the train.”
This event was held the day before the last day to register to vote or change address; therefore, many commuters said this event was beneficial.
“I appreciate V-103 for this,” said voter Tonya Smith. “Maybe now, people in Atlanta will take elections a little more seriously. I can’t tell people who to vote for, but if you don’t vote, you shouldn’t be complaining about what is not happening in office. By voting, you have a voice.”
As the first Presidential Debate has passed by, there are two more to be held dealing with Domestic & Foreign Policies. The Vice Presidential Debate will be held this Thursday, the 11th at 9 p.m.
The Election Day is November 6, 2012 and is expected to be a close race.
