ATLANTA (AP/WAOK) - A New Hampshire textile manufacturer plans to open a new $15 million manufacturing and distribution facility in northwest Georgia.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal said Tuesday that Foss Manufacturing Co. is expected to create 150 new jobs over three years.

Foss makes non-woven fabrics and specialty synthetic fibers. It plans to manufacture medical masks, hospital apparel and linens and automotive and filtration products at its new plant in Rome. Foss CEO AJ Nassar said he is excited to expand the company’s operations into the city.

Northwest Georgia was historically a hub for the textile industry, though it has taken hits. The most recent was the Great Recession, which pushed down demand for home goods and textiles generally.
