On Power Talk with Lorraine Jacques-White we talked about the “Chicago Teacher Strike”, that is currently effecting over 400,000 students in the Chicago Public School system. The teachers are on strike because of pay, classroom conditions, and evaluation procedures. The story has gained national attention, and the teachers are asking for support.
Chicago Mayor Ron Emmanuel stated that the teachers are over acting, and the strike did not have to happen. However, teachers and the Chicago Teacher’s Union disagree with the mayor’s comments.
Our special guest were 2 teachers and Union Members, who called in directly from the picket lines in Chicago to tell their story. They gave us an exclusive on the truth about the “Chicago Teacher Strike”!!
