Today in Charlotte, a group of 100 protesters were shouting “Obama is a traitor,” while others laid down in the streets outside of the Democratic National Convention. The demonstration was called after protesters demanded for the release of Bradley Manning, a former U.S. Army intelligence analyst who is accused of leaking documents related to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to the WikiLeaks website.
The protest comes to a shock to convention goers, for their was not as many protesters at the Republican National Convention. The protest also caused a temporarily shut down the official bus service that transported delegates to the convention. Police were in attendance, forming a circle around the group, to make sure things did not get out of hand.
