This has been a summer of comparisons between LeBron James & Michael Jordan and don’t expect the conversations to die anytime soon…
With the unveiling of the Nike LeBron X shoe it made me ask the question to myself “Will there ever be another basketball star who’s shoes catch on like Nike’s Air Jordans?” There have been many that have tried but that only reached subpar status: Kobe, Dominique Wilkins, Mutombo, Ewing, Olajuwon, and even Shaq.
When the original Jordans were released 1985 Nike tested the market with the first pair of shoes to cost $100. Here we are in 2012 and the Jordan brand is just as strong as it’s ever been (funny thing is MJ has played since 2003) and now Nike is ready to test the market once again; this time with the LeBron X.
This shoe combines four of Nike’s most innovative technologies: Nike’s Dynamic Flywire technology, Hyperfuse construction, Nike Plus functionality the first full-length visible Zoom Air unit.
The starting price… $315.00…
However there will be a non-Nike+ edition of the shoe that will cost around $180.00.
That leads to today’s Sports Poll Question of The Day:
