Who Do You Think Will Be The Next Clayton County Sheriff? Take Our Poll!!!
Take our Poll!!!
According to V-103.com,
At times the exchange between the two sheriffs was downright comical, at other times confusing. Both former Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill and current Sheriff Kem Kimbrough used the chance to talk to voters one more time before Tuesday’s runoff election. The “Final Say Before Election Day” took place at V-103 and WAOK studios. The debate was moderated by Frank Ski of V-103 and Mo Ivory of WAOK with journalists from newspaper and television forming a panel to ask questions that would hopefully clarify some of the questions voters have before they return to the polls to vote for either man.
The panel of Ernie Suggs of the AJC, David Stokes of the Atlanta Inquirer and Jennifer Leslie of WXIA 11 Alive asked about everything from clarification on the indictments both reportedly face (Hill facing 37 counts for corruption and Kimbrough for sexual harrassment) to what each would do to make the county safer for all citizens. Questions were also submitted by members of the in studio audience. “Jackie” asked both candidates if reelected what two things would they do differently. Victor Hill said he would “think before I act next time.” Some have criticized Hill for acting hastily when on his first day of office in 2004 he fired 27 deputies from the sheriff’s office. Kimbrough said he would “concentrate more on the community.”
V-103′s Wanda Smith and Attorney Janice Mathis of WAOK read questions submitted to the candidates from on air listeners, Twitter and Facebook. Sonia Murray, Digital Content Manager for CBS Radio Atlanta said over 1000 people checked out the live stream of the debate that lasted more than an hour and fifteen minutes on the websites.
While many have complained that the choice between Hill and Kimbrough represents a choice for the lesser of two evils, station organizers of the debate are hoping the attention will at least encourage people to go back to the polls and vote on Tuesday.
