ATLANTA (WAOK) - -  A voluntary recall of romaine lettuce is being conducted across 19 states because of concerns about potential E.coli contamination.

Tanimura & Antle, based in Salinas, California, says it’s voluntarily recalling its Field Fresh Wrapped Single Head Romaine. The lettuce is packed in a plastic bag with the UPC number 0-27918-20314-9, and it may have a “best by” date of Aug. 19.

Cases were sent to Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

The product was also shipped to Canada and Puerto Rico.  The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the product was distributed across several provinces.
