Police Checking Carmike Cinemas Due To Bomb Threat
ATLANTA (WAOK) - Police are checking out Carmike Cinemas across the nation due to a bomb threat.
The Georgia based company says there are no reports of anything being found yet in the security sweeps, but theaters across the U.S. are on high alert.
Authorities say calls were made to mutiple theaters including a call made to the corporate office in Columbus.
Police say the threats mentioned that bombs would go off during the showing of “The Expendables 2.” which opens in theaters today.
Carmike theaters in Atlanta, Snellville, Canton, Newnan, Hiram, Conyers, Cumming and Bartow County will all gave police presence today.
There are about 200 Carmike theaters in the U.S.
