Atlanta Police Make Arrest In Death Of Restaurant Owner

ATLANTA (AP) — Atlanta police have made an arrest in the murder of a popular lounge owner Thursday morning in Northwest Atlanta.  Otis Ricks,   was captured within 24 hours of the incident at 632 Old Dixie Hwy at The Hotel Magnolia.  

The victim,  53-year-old Vanessa Thrasher of Lithia Springs, was the owner of O.T.’s Lounge Soul Food Grill at Joseph E. Boone Boulevard and New Jersey Avenue.

Police say Thrasher was shot multiple times in her business. Her body was found by an officer patrolling the area shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday.

The Fulton County District Attorney’s office says Thrasher was scheduled to testify in a murder case next week.

Thrasher reportedly took over the business from her grandfather. O.T.’s Lounge has been a fixture in the community for the last 50 years.

Police released photos of three suspects wanted in the case.
Police say more arrests are expected.
