Fort Stewart Troops Get Visit From Top Brass

FORT STEWART, Ga. (AP) — The Army’s top general is planning a visit with troops at Fort Stewart in southeast Georgia.

Fort Stewart officials say Gen. Ray Odierno (oh-dee-EHR-no), the Army’s chief of staff, will re-enlist more than 30 soldiers during his visit Monday and will meet with 3rd Infantry Division commanders preparing to deploy to Afghanistan.

It’s Odierno’s first trip to Fort Stewart, the largest Army post east of the Mississippi River, since he was sworn in as the Army’s top uniformed officer last year.
