ATLANTA (WAOK)-Summer vacation is officially over for students returning to school on Monday, August 6. Students in Atlanta, Douglas, Gwinnett, Henry and Coweta Counties return to class.
Atlanta School Superintendent Dr. Erroll Davis told us that after redistricting and the CRCT scandal, students can look forward to new ideas to enhance learning this year.
Students have already returned to school in Decatur, Cherokee, Paulding and Rockdale Counties.
Students have an additional week of vacation in Fulton, Clayton, Cobb, Fayette and DeKalb Counties. Those students return to class on Monday, August 13.
Forsyth and Hall County students return to class on August 9 and 10 respectively.
Parents of all school students can take advantage of tax free weekend incentives for back to school supplies August 10 – 11. Some retailers are already offering tax free incentives even before the official dates arrive.
Parents remember, once school starts, please drive slowly in neighborhoods. When you see a school bus with its stop sign extended that means stop in both directions.
Good luck this year from everyone here at CBS Radio.
