ATLANTA (WAOK)-Two home invasion suspects picked the wrong house to break into on Friday. Atlanta police say just before 11:00am officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired and a person shot in the area of Drew Dr in NW Atlanta.  When officers  arrived, they found two men who had been shot.  Both were transported to Grady Hospital and are reported in stable condition.

Police say their preliminary investigation shows that the shooting happened during a possible home invasion.  The victim of the home invasion told police that he was inside his home on the phone when he saw a van stop in front of his house.  One man got out of the van  and began knocking on his front door.  A few moments later, the homeowner told police a second man got out of the van and joined the first man at the front door.

As the men began kicking in the door, the homeowner told police he opened the door and fired several shots hitting both men.   The suspects ran back to the van and a third man who was driving the van drove off.

Police found the van and the two suspects who had been shot not far from Drew Dr. The two men who were shot were taken to the hospital. The man driving the van is still on the loose.
