ATLANTA (WAOK) – Lilburn is the latest city to pass a curfew for teens 17 and younger.
City leaders now say if your teen is 17 or younger they have to be in the house between 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:59 p.m. to 6 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
Anyone found in violation of the curfew will be taken home and parents will receive a warning on the first offense.
Subsequent violations could result in parents facing penalties up to $1,000 in fines and 180 days in jail.
Alpharetta, Norcross and Atlanta have similar curfew laws.
In related moves, they have also strengthened penalties for parents whose children are repeat curfew violators and people caught defacing property with graffiti.
