Help For Back To School Students

Atlanta (WAOK)- The school year is just around the corner and Greenbriar Mall in Southwest Atlanta is gearing up for the excitement with a giant giveaway. This Saturday, July 28th, 2012, one thousand lucky students will receive a backpack filled with necessary supplies for school.

The “Back to School Jam” is being co-sponsored by Greenbriar Mall, Amerigroup, Atlanta Beverage Company,  and Pepsico to make the dreams of hundreds of students come true.

Pre-registration for back-to-school supplies for students in grades one through twelve  begins at 8 am in the Mall’s South parking lot. The supplies are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  The child must be present to register. The celebration will happen  between 11 am and 4 pm.  The event will also include a resource fair and live entertainment. A Kid’s Corner will include arts and crafts, bouncers, face painting, video game truck and lots of giveaways.

“We are excited to present the Back to School Jam to give back to the Southwest Atlanta community and the families we serve,” said Greenbriar Mall Marketing Director Gwendolyn Motley. “Our children’s education is vital to the growth of our community and Greenbriar Mall takes pride in being a part of their success.”

Greenbriar Mall is a Southwest Atlanta fixture that opened in 1965.  The indoor shopping center features a mix of national retailers such as Burlington Coat Factory, Foot Locker, and Macy’s, and great local retailers.
