Man Indicted For Shooting Wife Multiple Times
Atlanta (WAOK)– A Fulton County Grand Jury has just returned an indictment against 43-year-old Michael Darnell Parson on charges of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, Aggravated Battery (two counts) and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony for allegedly shooting and critically injuring his wife.
Adina Parson was shot and wounded on April 20, 2012 outside of her Morgan Falls apartment home in Sandy Springs. Residents reported to 911 operators hearing gunshots and a woman scream. Paramedics discovered Mrs. Parson lying on the ground in the breezeway of her apartment building. She had been shot seven times and sustained gunshot wounds throughout her body including her head, torso, arms and legs. Mrs. Parson remained hospitalized for several weeks in intensive care while police searched for a suspect.
Police detectives eventually linked Michael Parson to the crime. He was arrested May 6, 2012 during a traffic stop in El Paso, Texas and later extradited to Fulton County where he remains jailed without bond.
Prosecutors say Michael Parson was engaged to marry another woman while still married to his wife.
Adina Parson continues to recuperate from her injuries.
