HALL COUNTY, GA (CBS ATL/WAOK) – Hall County Commissioner Craig Lutz says that his fellow commissioners are considering tougher boating regulations on Lake Lanier after two tragic accidents on the water this summer.

Members of the commission will be meeting today with Hall County emergency responders to discuss options for making the lake a safer place.

“I believe it’s up to us as all governments, because it’s a multi-jurisdictional issue, to come together to see what we can do overall to try to improve the safety on the lake,” Lutz said.

At this point, Hall County Commissioners say they are considering all options which include the possibility of requiring boaters to carry a license, take a boating safety course or improving enforcement.

Several weeks ago, two brothers, Griffin and Jake Prince, were killed when another boat hit their family’s vessel. And last Friday, 11 year old Kyle Glover, the son of TV executive Ryan Glover and Tameka Foster, the ex-wife of singer Usher, was critically injured when a jet ski hit his inner tube.
