Woman Shot In Face While Driving On I-75

ATLANTA(CBS ATL/WAOK) -Atlanta Police are still looking for a man who shot a woman in the face as she and her companion were traveling through the city early Friday.

The woman was visiting Atlanta from Los Angeles with her son’s father to watch their son play in a baseball tournament.

The two were approaching the Northside Drive exit on Interstate 75, when a man wearing a white T-shirt started firing at them from a car in the left lane.

“He basically leaned out of the vehicle, out of the passenger side window of the vehicle, and shot toward their vehicle as they were traveling north on the expressway,” according to Atlanta Police Captain Adam Lee.

After the shooting, the woman managed to pull over. She and the passenger switched positions, and followed the signs to Piedmont Hospital. The woman is expected to survive, Lee said.

Police haven’t released a motive.
