ATLANTA (WAOK) – Greater Works Assembly is hosting a ‘Cooling Drive” to help seniors  beat the heat this weekend.

Atlanta area Pastor Darryl Winston and his congregation are collecting and distributing nearly 500 fans to the elderly throughout the metro Atlanta area. In 2008,  Pastor Winston and the Greater Works family was able to assist over 100 seniors who were battling the stifling weather.

Fans will be collected on Friday June 29 from 11am to 2pm and 7pm to 9pm.  In addition, on Saturday June 30, fans will be collected from 9am to 3pm.

Temperatures this weekend are expected to reach triple digits which can be deadly to the elderly.

For more information to volunteer or donate fans. Contact Greater Works Assembly at 404-919-7812 or go to their website at greaterworksassembly. com.
