Clayton County Officer Shoots Burglary Suspect

JONESBORO – (WAOK/AJC)  –  A Clayton county officer is now on leave,  after he shot a burglary suspect Wednesday,   during what he said was a break in on Bonanza Church Road in Jonesboro.   The officer said he responded to a neighbor’s call for help,   and confronted several suspects,   who began running from the scene.   The officer said he fired his gun,   which hit the suspect in the head,    after the officer said the man pointed a weapon at him.  The search continues for the other suspects.   The wounded man’s name and condition was not released.
