2012 Cadillac SRX
If there’s still anyone out there who doesn’t think that Cadillac can go head-to-head with the Europeans or Japanese, they probably just haven’t driven one lately.
The 2012 SRX is yet another example of the kind of world-class vehicles that Cadillac has been turning out for the past several years.
Let’s start with the engine. The SRX has GM’s excellent 3.6 V-6…now with direct-injection. This gives it 308 horsepower…and with it’s standard 6-speed automatic, it makes this a very lively hauler!
In “Premium” edition, the SRX came with 20-inch alloys, heated and cooled leather drivers’ and passenger seats, heated rear seats, remote-start, dual-screen DVD, a programmable rear lift-gate, heated steering wheel, adjustable pedals, wood trim, and a monster sunroof that spans the entire length of the vehicle.
In top-of-the-line trim, it stickered at $48,245…and is rated at 17 – 24 MPG.
We got 22+ MPG in our commute. We coulda’ done better but it’s a little hard to not hit the “GO” pedal every chance you get. The SRX is one fun machine to drive!
If you value performance and handling…and need five-door utility…the Cadillac SRX may be just the ticket…and could run you around $10,000 less than the foreign competition.
