The NBA’s Eastern Conference finals have taken a stunning turn in favor of the Boston Celtics. The Celtics posted their third straight victory and became the first team to win on the road by rallying to beat the favored Miami Heat 94-90 to take a 3-2 series lead.
Kevin Garnett finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Paul Pierce hit a big 3-pointer over LeBron James with just under a minute. Pierce scored 19 points.
James finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds for Miami, but went 8 minutes without scoring in the final quarter. Dwyane Wade scored 27 for the Heat, who got no more than nine from anyone else.
Game 6 is Thursday night in Boston, where the Celtics will try to clinch a trip to either Oklahoma City or San Antonio for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
