Not so fast, Miami. After opening the NBA Eastern Conference finals with back-to-back losses in Miami, the Boston Celtics relished returning to their familiar parquet floor where they posted a 101-91 win over the Heat. That’s Boston’s seventh win in eight home playoff games this spring and it cut the Heat lead to 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.
Kevin Garnett had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Rajon Rondo (RAH’-zhahn RAHN’-doh) scored 21 points with 10 assists to lead Boston. Paul Pierce added 23 points. LeBron James scored 34 points to lead the Heat, who trailed by as many as 24 before rallying late to make it close.
Only 14 teams in NBA history have rallied from an 0-2 hole to win a best-of-seven series, and the Celtics haven’t done it since 1969.
Game 4 is Sunday night in Boston.
