Man Drives Car Into Pool In Smyrna Neighborhood

ATLANTA (AP/WAOK) – Authorities say a man was rescued after he drove his car into a swimming pool in a Cobb County neighborhood.

Officials report that painters working on the clubhouse at the Oakdale Bluffs subdivision in Smyrna pulled the man from the water Thursday. They said he was conscious but incoherent when he was rescued.

The driver was taken to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.

No one was at the pool when the accident happened. The complex has already erected a temporary fence and is in the process of cleaning the remaining debris from the pool. Complex officials say it will be about a week before the pool will be reopened to residents.
