The San Antonio Spurs have ridden their lengthy winning streak into the NBA’s Western Conference Finals.
The Spurs closed out their conference semifinal series and picked up their 18th win dating to the regular season by downing the Los Angeles Clippers 102-99.
The Clippers led 97-96 with about 2 1/2 minutes remaining until Tony Parker hit consecutive baskets to put the Spurs ahead to stay. Parker finished with 17 points and six rebounds to help San Antonio complete its second consecutive series sweep. Tim Duncan had team highs of 21 points and nine rebounds for the Spurs.
Chris Paul paced the Clippers with 23 points and 11 assists, but he also had a pass stolen and missed a shot within the last 15 seconds of the game. Blake Griffin had 21 points for the L.A.
