ATLANTA (AP/WAOK) –  Some metro Atlanta liquor stores will have to pay to sell liquor on Sundays if voters approve the measure.

Cobb County voters will decide in July whether to allow Sunday sales of alcohol.

Cobb County commissioners have decided to impose a $500 annual permit fee on liquor stores that sell alcohol on Sundays.

If Cobb County voters approve Sunday liquor sales, the new law will go into effect in August. The fee for liquor stores selling alcohol on Sunday will increase to $500 in 2013.

More than 100 Georgia communities voted on Sunday alcohol sales last year, after state lawmakers and the governor agreed to let local jurisdictions decide the issue.
