ATLANTA – (WAOK/AJC) - Atlanta police believe the same man is responsible for a kidnapping and an attempted kidnapping in the same neighborhood, early this morning, in northeast Atlanta. Neighbors say the man pulled a gun on a woman and tried to force her into the trunk of his car, on Hawthorne Street, by beating her in the face, but neighbors intervened and scared him off. Authorities say the same masked suspect, kidnapped another woman, earlier, a few blocks away on Mayson Avenue, after pulling a gun and forcing the woman off her porch and into the trunk of his car, but she managed to pull the emergency latch and get out of the trunk, as the suspect, sped away. They describe the man as a thinly built black male about 5’7″ tall with shoulder length dreadlocks. They say he was driving a small dark colored sedan with front end damage. Police are putting together a composite sketch of the man.
