New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire had to be treated by paramedics for lacerations on his left hand following Monday’s playoff loss to the Miami Heat. Head coach Mike Woodson did not comment on the severity of the injury or how it happened after the game, but the “New York Daily News” reports that Stoudemire punched a glass door that housed a fire extinguisher. Stoudemire had 18 points and seven rebounds in New York’s 104-94 Game Two loss to Miami.
Stoudemire took to his Twitter account late Monday night and said, quote, “I am so mad at myself right now, I want to apologize to the fans and my team, not proud of my actions, headed home for a new start.”
