Norcross Teen Severely Injured In Car Surfing Accident
NORCROSS – (WAOK/AJC) - Gwinnett county authorities say a teenager is in a medically induced coma, after he was injured in a car sufing accident on Wednesday. Police say 16 year old Alex Mora and some of his friends decided to skip classes at Norcross High School, and go car surfing instead. Mora and several others were reportedly riding outside of his friend’s SUV, along Beaver Ruin Road in Norcross, when the car overturned on Mora, crushing him. Investigators say the driver, 18 year old Alejandro Rodriguez is facing numerous charges, that include leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, and driving without a license. Police say, speed was a factor in the crash. Mora is expected to survive.
