AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — A 60-year-old woman has been arrested on weapons charges after authorities say she assaulted a Georgia Health Sciences University police officer.
The Augusta Chronicle (http://bit.ly/JR1gPA ) reports that Marlene Grant has been charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer and weapons on school grounds.
Richmond County Sheriff’s office says the officer asked Grant for her identification and she replied “Just shoot me” then continued to walk away.
When the officer again approached Grant, she punched the officer in the eye. Grant also bit the officer on the arm during the struggle between the two.
The report says the officer used a Taser to gain control of Grant. After the incident, officers found a knife with a 3-inch blade in Grant’s pocket.
