ATLANTA (AP/WAOK) - Friends and relatives plan to hold a vigil for a woman who was shot eight times in a crime that’s left them wondering who would want to harm her.
The gathering for 40-year-old Adina Parson is planned for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Elizabeth Baptist Church’s Smyrna campus.
Police say Parson was shot three times in the head and five times in her body Friday night, then left to die in the breezeway of her Sandy Springs apartment complex. She was in critical but stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Parson is an attorney for the state Department of Public Health. Authorities say it isn’t known whether her work is related to the shooting, and so far there are few clues to go on.
