An outspoken critic of President Barack Obama – Iowa’s Republican Senator Chuck Grassley – upped his attacks over the weekend by calling the commander-in-chief “stupid” in a tweet.
Grassley’s comments were in response to Obama saying that if the Supreme Court finds his health care law unconstitutional, it would be “unprecedented.”
In typical Twitter shorthand – which requires 140 characters or less – Grassley typed: “Constituents askd why i am not outraged at PresO attack on supreme court independence. Bcause Am ppl r not stupid as this x prof of con law.”
(Obama was a law professor at the University of Chicago).
David Axelrod, the president’s campaign senior strategist replied: “Heads up, Sen. Grassley. I think a 6-year-old hijacked your account and is sending out foolish Tweets just to embarrass you!”
