You Could Be A Star On Oprah’s OWN Network

ATLANTA (AJC/WAOK)-How would you like to be a star on OWN? Oprah casting folks are looking for Atlanta families with teens and tension at home for a show called “It Takes A Village.”

Oprah Winfrey recently discussed the channel’s challenges during an appearance on Good Morning America.

Low ratings axed a show with Rosie O’Donnell that had been featured on OWN, and about 30 people lost their jobs as a result of recent restructuring.

OWN debuted on January 1, 2011, in approximately 77 million homes. It has since been plagued by turnover at the top and ratings disappointments.

But you and your mildly dysfunctional family can help turn things around.

“If you’re a mom or dad locked in a he-said-she-said battle with your teens, we want YOU – NOW,” the notice reads. “We’re looking for families who are going through what typical families go through and are having a difficult time with their teens’ typical issues, including trouble focusing on homework or maybe dealing with peer pressuring or bullying. The family doesn’t have to be dysfunctional, just maybe not running as smoothly as it could be.”
