Nike is battling with Reebok over Tim Tebow shirts and other apparel. The “New York Times” reports Nike landed a temporary restraining order on Wednesday against Reebok.
The order stops Reebok from selling Tebow stuff. Nike is alleging Reebok illegally sold Tebow shirts and other items shortly after he was traded from the Denver Broncos to the New York Jets last week.
In a complaint filed Tuesday in federal court in Manhattan, Nike said Reebok engaged in the sale of the Tebow material “despite not having any current right or licence to produce new NFL products featuring NFL player identification” such as a name and uniform number.
Reebok says it was notified of the lawsuit on Wednesday but had no prior knowledge of the existence of a dispute.
