GWINNETT COUNTY – (WAOK/AJC) - Gwinnett county police say a man is in custody, on charges of sexual battery, false imprisonment, and assault, after SWAT teams used tear gas to flush him out of unit of the Woodchase apartments on Brook Hollow Parkway in Norcross. Police say a man identified as Larry Davis finally surrendered to police this afternoon, following a standoff that started Wednesday morning, when someone called 9-1-1, while responding to a woman’s screams. Davis, allegedly, forced his way into a woman’s apartment, after knocking on her door, and claiming to be a maintenance worker. The woman said she fought with the suspect, who she says was armed with a knife. Gwinnett police say it’s possible that Davis may have been living in some nearby woods for the past several days. They are also checking to see if he may be responsible for several other crimes in the area over the past few weeks, including a rape, a week ago, at a complex, 5 miles away.
