Record Breaking Pollen Day

ATLANTA (WAOK)- If you suffer from allergies or even if you don’t Monday was a rough day for most people in Atlanta. The pollen count set a record at 8,164  particles of pollen per cubic  meter of air  more than a third higher than the previous record of 6,013,  set on  April 12, 1999, according to the Atlanta Allergy and Asthma Clinic. The major pollens present Monday were oak, pine, mulberry, sycamore, sweet gum and birch.

Forecasters say the high pollen will be with us until we get another good rain.  Not until the end of the week at the earliest. Take your allergy medicine….wash off when you come in the house….and keep your doors and windows closed.
