The end could be near for Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones.

The 39-year-old told the “Atlanta Journal-Constitution” on Monday that he isn’t sure he will go through with playing this season.  Jones says his body is starting to signal the end of his career and that he isn’t sure he will even make it through the 2012 campaign.

He also admitted that his right knee, which required arthroscopic surgery last July, has been bothering him recently.

Last season, Jones hit .275 with 18 home runs and 70 RBI.  He is owed $14-million this season by Atlanta in the final season of a three-year, 42-million-dollar deal.
