ATLANTA (AP) – Voters have approved Sunday alcohol sales in several metro Atlanta communities, including parts of Cobb and Gwinnett counties.
Several Georgia cities and counties added voting on alcohol sales to their ballots for Tuesday’s Republican presidential primary.
The Marietta Daily Journal reports that voters approved Sunday alcohol sales in unincorporated parts of Cobb County and in the cities of Marietta, Powder Springs and Austell.
The Gwinnett Daily Post reports that voters approved the measure in unincorporated Gwinnett County and in the city of Buford. The Times of Gainesville reports that voters in unincorporated
Hall County also approved Sunday sales. More than 100 Georgia communities voted on Sunday alcohol sales last year, after state lawmakers and the governor agreed to let local jurisdictions decide the issue. About 80 percent were approved.
