Atlanta’s warmth allows for nearly year-round golf, especially on uber-accommodating public courses. Find your fit at any one of these fun, local clubs.

Prices: Vary by time. $16 to $29 (Legacy)/$19 to $35 (Fox Creek)
Hours: Nov. 1 to March 1 Mon to Thurs – 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Fri to Sun – 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; daily March 1 to Oct. 31 – 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Legacy/Fox Creek has two 18-hole courses available to the public, and Fox Creek also offers nine-hole rates. Visit the driving range, which is open late for twilight and evening use. If that isn’t enough, Legacy and Fox also have an extensive offering of classes and sessions to help improve your game or familiarize you with the basics. The courses were designed by former PGA pro Larry Nelson and often play host to local tournaments, making them a great selection for veteran golfers or first-timers.

Prices: $19 to $38 for 18 holes/$14 to $24 for nine holes
Hours: Mon to Thurs – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Fri to Sun – 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This 18-hole, par-58 course lies in the East Lake neighborhood of Atlanta. Charlie Yates offers a driving range with great views of the downtown skyline, and will let you organize your own clinic for six or more people. Instructor lessons start at $45.

Prices: $56.50 to $65.00 for 18 holes/$38.00 to $42.00 for nine holes (with cart)
Hours: daily – 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Cobblestone runs alongside Lake Acworth, and was renovated in 2010. Cobblestone allows players to book tee times online, and has an up-to-the-minute display of available tee times. Cobblestone’s golf academy offers opportunities for youths to learn from PGA and LPGA professionals.

City Club Marietta, housed just off historic Marietta Square next to the Hilton Marietta Conference Center, is close by for both locals and visitors to the area. Originally constructed in 1915, the course was private until 1991 when it was renovated and opened up to the public. City Club Marietta also hosts an annual championship In addition to standard lessons, and offers youth clinics and even a summer youth camp.

Prices: $22.00 to $31.00 Mon to Fri/$35.00 Sat to Sun
Hours: daily – 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

West Pines sits just off I-20, out in Douglas County. The 6,800-yard course also provides online reservation options, as well as online specials. Plan private events for groups of 20 or more. West Pines also offers individual lessons for as little as $35 for juniors and $55 for adults, and clinics at regular intervals during the week and on weekends.
