ATLANTA (CBS Atlanta)— You better open up your checkbook if you want to go to Tyler Perry’s house to meet President Obama.
According to WXIA-TV, the actor and producer best known for his “Madea” films is hosting a $35,800 fundraiser at his Georgia home for the president on March 16. That amount is the legal maximum under Federal Election Commission rules.
Supporters who shell out that much cash will be able to get their picture taken with Obama.
The private fundraiser at Perry’s house comes after a gala hosted by the African American Leadership Council at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta that day.
Five hundred dollars gets you a ticket to the event, $2,500 gets you VIP access and $10,000 gets you a photo with Obama.
The president will be holding four fundraising events in New York City Thursday. According to the latest filing with the FEC, the Obama campaign has raised over $140 million so far.
