APS Cheating Scandal Proves To Be Costly
ATLANTA (WAOK) – Atlanta Public Schools continue to struggle with the CRCT cheating scandal.
Last week APS officials gave educators involved in the scandal an ultimatum; quit or be fired. So far only 5 teachers have turned in their resignations, leaving the district to continue to shell out around $600, 000 a month on salaries.
Those educators who decide to be fired are entitled to a hearing which will cost the district around $9,000 for each teacher.
APS Officials say they will continue to deal with the situation on a case by case basis.
