I have been a teacher and are aware that the tests do nothing other than to highlight the lack of exposure of students. I don’t think they should be fired. Has anyone asked them why they did this? I think that this should be made into a teachable moment because they highlight the inadequacies of the tests. Is anyone talking about that. How has this affected the students? There may be some students like me who does not take the standardized tests well and barley made enough to get into college. I was on the Dean’s list my first semester ion college and went on to get a BS in Speech Pathology and a minor in Audiology. If did not have a student who was the Valedictorian of my high school class studying with me to take the test the second time I may not have made into college. Don’t fire them or make them resign. But if I had to make a choice, I would make them fire me and then sue them. This is no worse than teaching the children the actual tests like they do in some other schools,.

Really? Cheating on standardized tests organized and done by the teachers is okay? Make them fire you and then sue them? Sue them for what? Cheating is unacceptable. Organized cheating b the teachers to improve test scores is so obviously wrong and unethical it is indefensible. Next you will claim that this was an innovative way to reach an unattainable goal and these teachers should get an award. Just because you struggled with standardized tests does not mean that they are not a valid way to test student knowledge and progress. That is not to say it is the only way, but it is one method.

Defending the indefensible…..amazing….and then threatening to sue if punished for obvious wrongdoing. If the kids are failing, then let them fail. To gain the knowledge takes teachers trying, students trying and parents trying. Not falsifying results.
