Yeah…I bet the visitor’s locker room at Madison Square Garden was quiet enough to hear a rat do you know what on cotton after the Hawks 99-82 loss to the Knicks last night.
Over the past five or six days we’ve been hearing about players disappointed in the playing time with the team including Tracy McGrady and allegedly Marvin Williams. Last night the Hawks went into MSG without All-Star guard Joe Johnson as he nurses tendinitis in his left knee and neither player took advantage of the situation.
In his return to the lineup after missing a couple of games to attend a funeral, Marvin Williams was terrible in 26:48 he only managed to score 0 points and T-Mac who has been very vocal as of late played 14:45 and scored six points.
My message to Williams and McGrady…
Please be quiet!
Overall the Hawks have completely taken a turn for the worse losing 1-of-4 games on their current road swing, they’ve lost 8-of-11, and in three of those games Atlanta has been down by as many as 30 including last night’s loss.
One for the road:
It was announced yesterday that Joe Johnson will sit out this weekend’s All-Star festivities where he was scheduled to be a part of the three point shootout, shooting stars competition, and Sunday’s All-Star game.
Boston’s Rajon Rondo was selected to replace Johnson.
Hawks’ coach Larry Drew released a statement saying he was disappointed that Josh Smith wasn’t selected to replace Johnson but as I’ve mentioned before realistically the Hawks don’t have any All-Stars.
