I’m already tired of you… Please sit down and shut the hell up!
Now print that!
I am so tired of these washed up DIVA athletes especially the ones that don’t realize that the game has passed them by that I honestly don’t know what to do at this point.
Case & point: Tracy McGrady, the former All-Star and NBA scoring champion who now plays for the Atlanta Hawks ripped Larry Drew and his coaching staff regarding his unhappiness with his current role on the team.
After playing a limited role in last weekend’s Hawks 20 point loss to Portland these were McGrady’s words:
“I’m tired of this [bleep],” “You can put that in the paper, I don’t give a [bleep].”
“If you don’t feel I can help, come tell me that,” McGrady said. “He ain’t told me nothing. I just want to help these guys win, man, which I know I can. But, damn, four minutes?”
Well buddy I’ve got some good news and bad news…
The good news is that after complaining about your role GM Rick Sund & Larry Drew actually had a meeting about increasing your role! The bad news is that yesterday versus the Chicago Bulls you played 22 minutes but were a mere 2-of-3 from the field, 1-of-4 from the free throw line, and only scored 6 points.
Results… The Hawks lost and lost badly the score didn’t really show the butt-kicking they took.
Could someone please wake McGrady up from this fairy tale dream that he’s still an elite NBA athlete?
There’s no doubt that at one point McGrady was one of the most prolific scorer in the league. Between 2000-and-2008 McGrady averaged at the top or near the top in points per game including the 2002-2003 season when he averaged 32.1ppg while playing with the Orlando Magic.
It’s been a long time since those days, mainly because of McGrady inability to stay healthy. Going back to 2008-2009 McGrady only appeared in 35 games with Houston averaging 15ppg, during the 2009-2010 season he only appeared in 6 games for the Rockets before he was traded to the New York Knicks where he only averaged 9.4ppg in 24 games for the Knicks, and last season with the Detroit Pistons he appeared in 72 games averaging 8ppg in 23.4 minutes per game.
Currently as a member of the Atlanta Hawks he has appeared in 27 games, averaging 17.5 minutes per game, and 6.5ppg.
Based on the previously mentioned stats… McGrady is washed up and needs to realize that the Hawks have given him an opportunity that no other team probably would have given him.
Why can’t he just be grateful to have a job?
Will Jerry Stackhouse make a similar play for a starting job?
