The lowly New Jersey Nets derailed the Jeremy Lin train by cooling off the red-hot New York Knicks 100-92. That’s just the Knicks’ second loss in their last 10 games.
All-Star Deron Williams hit for a season-high 38 points and outplayed the second-year point guard out of Harvard.
Lin finished with 21 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. But Williams outscored him 36-11 through three quarters, when the Nets led by 18. Lin shot only 7 of 18.
Carmelo Anthony was clearly rusty in his return from a seven-game absence with a strained right groin. ‘Melo shot 4 of 11 and scored 11 points in his return to the Knicks lineup.
