MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — A former Georgia National Guard soldier has been convicted on three counts of child molestation in Cobb County.

Authorities say 41-year-old John Joseph Kinnaman was convicted Friday. The Cobb County district attorney’s office says Kinnaman also faces charges in Troup and Franklin counties.

Court documents show the charges stem from 2010 and involve a relative. Kinnaman has been in jail since his November arrest.

Kinnaman was a master sergeant in the 124th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment of the Georgia National Guard. He is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m.

His attorney, Thomas Ford, said Kinnaman is innocent and he plans to appeal the conviction.
