ATLANTA (AP/WAOK) – Lawyers for the man accused of killing an Athens-Clarke police officer are asking that he be transferred from the Clarke County Jail to the DeKalb County Jail.

Attorneys for Jamie Hood made the request at a Wednesday court hearing. It was not immediately clear why they want Hood moved.

Hood is charged with murder in the shooting of Senior Police Officer Elmer “Buddy” Christian on March 22 and with attempting to murder SPO Tony Howard, as well as killing county employee Kenneth Omari Wray in December.

A 70-count indictment also charges him with multiple kidnappings, two carjackings, armed robbery and other felonies.

District Attorney Ken Mauldin filed notice to seek the death penalty if Hood is convicted.

  1. DWM says:

Hopefully this boy will get the death sentence like that boy Troy davis got. You do the crime, you do the time.
