It’s ok to tell someone to shut it up if truly needed…

So right here, right now I’m asking the soon to be incarcerated Floyd Mayweather, Jr. to do just that shut up!

It’s so funny how Floyd conducts his business on Twitter; first off he challenged Pacquiao to a fight via the social media service and now he’s playing the race card versus New York Knick point guard Jeremy Lin.

Yesterday Mayweather posted: “Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he’s Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise.”

There’s no doubt Floyd’s tweet has some validity but, who told Floyd that it was his duty to make this statement? After all this is the dude that recorded a video a few years back where he used racial and gay slurs towards Manny Pacquiao in addition to making fun of Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach who suffers from Parkinson’s disease.

Smells like hate to me…

Black, white, yellow, green, blue, or purple; color doesn’t matter the bottom line is that Lin has led the Knicks to five straight victories, including a 38-point game against the Lakers last weekend.

Jeremy Lin’s story is developing into a great one and New York Knicks’ fans deserve to have something to be excited about after all their team hasn’t been that successful since the end of the Patrick Ewing era in New York.

Some folks (Floyd) crave all the attention.

What African-American NBA players are you speaking on behalf of?

Shut up and stop being such a media whore…

I love Floyd Mayweather but he is an idiot. Yes, there are and have been great Black players in the NBA. Maybe Kobe Bryant and a few others could do what Lin has done, but few others. And didn’t Lin stuff the ball down Kobe’s throat a few games ago. The only one who is racist is Floyd himself. He owes Lin an apology.

The author mentions “There’s no doubt Floyd’s tweet has some validity.” Really? And what would that be? Fact is Lin has averaged more points and assists per game in his first 4 starts than anyone in NBA history.

Hi Jason.. Thanks for reading the post! I’m no fan of Floyd but we as in African Americans are expected to ball out meanwhile Lin is creating a huge buzz because of his nationality. I love what Lin is doing but I can only wonder what Mayweather’s excuse will be when Pacquiao finally beats that butt? Thanks again Jason!
