UPDATE: According to the Powerball website there was one jackpot winner on Saturday February 11. That winning ticket was purchased in …..Rhode Island. (Sorry)
ATLANTA (WAOK/AJC)-This Saturday’s Powerball Jackpot has grown to over $325 million. It is the largest Powerball jackpot since Georgia joined the multi state game in 2010.
If a single player matches all six numbers in Saturday night’s drawing and chooses the cash option, the proceeds would be about $202.9 million, the highest in Powerball history.
Unfortunately the odds of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 175 million according to lottery officials.
A lottery spokeswoman said there is no way to tell how much the jackpot might rise even more before Saturday’s drawing since the amount is fueled by lottery ticket sales. The ticket for the drawing is $2.
The largest-ever Powerball jackpot was $365 million won by a ticket holder in Nebraska in February 2006.
The drawing will be held at 11 p.m. Saturday. Good Luck!
