Last night your Atlanta Hawks built a 21 point lead in the first half of last night’s Hawks-Pacers matchup at Philips Arena and did the unthinkable in the second half…
They survived an Indiana run during the second half that saw Atlanta outscored 46-38 including a 31 point third quarter by the Pacers.
I think Josh said it best after last night’s game.
The Hawks were playing like a desperate team in much need of a victory and while things aren’t exactly that bad for the Hawks they came into last night’s contest losers of three in a row, all at Philips Arena.
Hawks veteran leaders Tracy McGrady and Kirk Hinrich combined for 30 points to provide Atlanta’s only points off the bench.
Now here’s a stat that’ll make you shake your head…
Prior to last night’s game the Hawks were 5-and-8 this season in games where Joe Johnson fails to score 20 points or more. Last night Johnson gave the Hawks 20 points on 8-of-23 shooting from the field, however last night belonged to Josh Smith.
J. Smoove had another huge night recording a team high 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks in Atlanta’s 97-87 win over the Indiana Pacers.
The Hawks visit the Magic in Orlando tomorrow night.
